Pinus eldarica is prized for its upright symmetrical growth habit that never changes during its life. It is very popular in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah although it is advisable to avoid southwestern areas in the 4,000-8,000 ft. elevation range. A terrific specimen tree, it is also often used in groups for a windbreak, as a buffer or median tree, and is becoming a popular Christmas tree in some areas.
